The Nursery

How to choose the best nursery for your child

There are a number of things to consider, for example;

  • Is the nursery welcoming clean & airy?
  • Is the outdoor play area fenced in and the equipment well maintained?
  • Do the children get healthy snacks from a clean preparation area?
  • Are the staff warm, caring and welcoming?
  • What activities are there to help your child develop?
  • Does the nursery organise trips?
  • Are the children at the nursery happy?
  • Will your child be happy here?

……… we like to think so. Please arrange to visit us and see if you agree.

Admission to Nursery

As soon as your child reaches two years old applications are invited at any time during the school year. There are places for 24 children in the mornings. These places are either funded by the L.E.A. or privately.

Once you have applied for a place you will be able to meet the manager and staff. Your child can meet the other children and you can ask any questions you may have. When your child first joins the nursery you will be asked to fill in the appropriate forms so that we have all the relevant information about your child.

Nursery Sessions

Afternoon sessions: May be introduced later in the year.

2+ years: Monday to Friday 9:00am – 12:00pm £12.00 per session
(£1 per week snack fees)

Bringing and Collecting Children

Always bring your child into the classroom hang up their coat and collect their name before settling them on the carpet this helps with a smooth start to the day. If there will be someone different collecting your child on that day please inform a member of staff as well as your child. So as not to disturb the children at home time please wait at the school gate not outside the nursery gate until you see a member of staff at the gate and then you can walk down to collect them. A password will be required if it is not the usual person.

Snack Time

During each session we have snack time when the children can have fruit, toast or crackers and a drink of milk or water.

Funding

Your child is eligible for Free Early Years provision from the 1st full term after their 3rd birthday.
